But it's easy!Well, yes. Your basic stand is easy . . . but if you've looked at the rest of the site you'll know that this will not just be a target stand. The aim here is to build a piece of range hardware able to perform multiple functions as well as being very easy to store. |

Build instructions1: LegsCut the post to size (~0.5-1.0m). Drill two bolt holes at 90 degrees to each other at one end of the post, one above the other. Make sure you will be able to fold and unfold the legs! Cut the legs to size (~0.3m, longer legs = more stability) and bolt them on in pairs.
2: Target holder Take some wood of the same general dimentions as the legs, but longer (in my case each length of stock wood made 4 legs and one target holder). Drill matching holes in the target holder (several places for flexability). Allow for multiple target/ barracade mounting points.

DeploymentHold the post upright and fold the lower legs down, tightening the bolts (friction will hold them in place, especially for rough cut timber). Unfold and tighten the upper legs. Bolt the target holder to the top. Two stands can be bolted together with a transverse beam to make a baracade etc., also the folding nature of the legs make them ideal for confined spaces (eg next to a wall). |
